ACC receives CARE Ramkrishna Award for its outstanding work in rural health in Chhattisgarh

- Company reaches out to 2015 patients in Jamul through its Community Health Centers

Raipur: ACC Limited has been dedicated to health improvement of communities across its plants. Since its inception, ACC has played a significant role in upgrading the quality of life of the villagers and tribal communities around its plants by transforming villages into vibrant and sustainable habitats. 

Recognizing ACC’s pioneering efforts in making the lives of people healthier; Ramkrishna CARE Hospital conferred the prestigious Ramkrishna CARE Award on ACC. This award was received by Mr. BK Pillai, Staff ACC Hospital and Mr. Jamil Khan, CSR Coordinator, ACC Jamul in the presence of Dr. Sandeep Dave, MD for CARE Ramkrishna Hospital, Dr. Malhotra and Dr. Devangan, Mr. Agarwal & Mr. Agarwal, members Blood Bank Group.

Ramkrishna CARE Hospital is a renowned chain of hospitals across the country. This institution felicitates various corporates who are dedicated in serving the society through their health initiatives. ACC’s Jamul Plant has exemplified its commitment towards community welfare through setting up Community Health Centers in Jamul and Dhour villages to help villagers get access to basic and better health facilities.

The people living in the communities around ACC’s Jamul plant have little or no access to basic facilities such as safe and adequate drinking water, education, health. The company has closely assessed the needs of these communities and strived to create a vital and healthy life for them.

In order to improve the health conditions of the people living in these communities, ACC has made available doctors, who are devoting one hour in a week to consult and treat villagers. Till date these doctors have attended to the needs of 2015 patients.

ACC has also joined hands with the Department of Health and Government of Chhattisgarh, to set up a center where villagers can come and get a free TB check up done. ACC joined hands with Rungta College for Science and Research College and conducted several dental camps for the villagers. In villages like Pathariya and Madesara, about 600 women and children were examined and free medicines were distributed. ACC also set up a blood donation camps at different villages.

ACC is among the very few private sector companies in India who has volunteered to lend a hand in the national effort to combat the HIV/AIDS which is recognized as being one of the country’s major public health issues. ACC has set up a HIV Awareness workshop for its labourers, truckers and the communities with the support Chhattisgarh AIDS Control Society Raipur.

First Exchange in Asia to adopt Bloomberg's Open Symbology

Mumbai-- Ace Derivatives and Commodity Exchange Limited, a Kotak Group anchored commodity exchange in India, has successfully completed integration of the Bloomberg Global Identifier (‘BBGID’).  The Exchange supports Bloomberg’s Open Symbology (BSYM), and is the first exchange to adopt the BBGID in Asia.

Dilip Bhatia, Chief Executive Officer of Ace Commodity Exchange said, “We see Bloomberg’s Open Symbology gaining traction, in particular amongst exchanges, because it is assigned at the exchange level. This fulfills an ongoing need of our customer base.”

Ace Commodity Exchange’s daily prices are tracked live on the Bloomberg Professional service at BBGID <GO>. “Ace Commodity Exchange joins a global list of exchanges and third parties that have adopted Bloomberg’s Open Symbology platform and are helping it become an industry standard,” said Peter Warms Head of Bloomberg’s Data License and Symbology Business, “BYSM’s comprehensive, yet intuitive rulebook provides clarity, transparency and efficiency the global marketplace.”

 The Bloomberg Global ID (‘BBGID’) is at the heart of Bloomberg's Open Symbology initiative launched in November 2009. The BBGID is a 12-digit alphanumerical identifier that comprehensively covers more than 36 million active and inactive securities globally. It is available free of licensing fees and is completely inclusive of far-reaching systems and services, and uses standard symbology across all global asset classes.
