Vidya re-unites with Nasseruddin Shah in The Dirty Picture after their crackling chemistry in the 2010 hit, Ishqiya. A different look, a fresh avatar and a new entrant – expect the unexpected on SAB TV’s show, Sajan Re Johor Mat Bolo. Lilliput is making an entry in Sajan Re Jhoot Maat Bolo and will be essaying a role of suspicious, strict quality inspector whose curious nature would further add to Apoorva and his family’s troubles.

All is going well at the Hotel Sanskar Heritage, until the family comes across Virat Vishaal, played by Indian funnyman Lilliput. Virat, an innocent soul who is suspicious by nature, has a habit of asking random questions at the trickiest of times. His curious nature and knowledge of the Hotel, leads everyone to believe that he’s here looking for a job. Little do they know that he actually is a Hotel Quality Inspector who is observing their every move!

While shooting the sequence with Tiku Talsania, Sumeet Raghavan and Rajiv Thakur, a scene required Lilliput to jump in the swimming pool. But no one knew that Lilliput was a hydrophobic. As the scenes got trickier, it got more difficult for him to stay in water.  Seeing this plight, co-star Sumeet Raghavan got into the water to help Lilliput execute the scene. 

Lilliput said that, “In a particular sequence I was required to fall in the swimming pool and as I have hydrophobia in order to perfect my role I started taking swimming lessons so as to get over hydrophobia.”

Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo is going to be full of surprises and interesting encounters between the family and Liliput.What happens when he finds out that none of them is qualified to run the hotel and how his presence will lead to funny encounters. This June, Sahara One brings to its viewers one of the greatest stories in modern Hindi literature – Kahani Chandrakanta Ki inspired from Babu Devki Nandan Khatri’s novel, CHANDRAKANTA SANTATI.

Kahani Chandrakanta Ki’ will begin telecast on Sahara One from Monday, 6th June 2011 at 8 PM and 10.30 PM, every Monday to Friday.

It is the love story of Shiv Dutt’s daughter Kishori and Chandrakanta’s son Indrajeet. Because of the family feud it will have an overload of  adventure with magical twists & turns. This fantasy drama is bringing to life the super successful characters of princess Chandrakanta, Kroor Singh, Pundit Jagannath, Badrinath etc under the banner of Sunil Agnihotri Production.

Kahani Chandrakanta Ki takes a leap to the next generation, a generation where love grows amidst intrigue and dark secrets. However, as fate would have it, this love takes seed in the same earth that has been seeped with the poison of hatred and conspiracy through the ages.

Chunargarh and Shivgarh have been at loggerheads since time immemorial. But destiny has a different plan to take this enmity to an entirely different dimension, when Kunwar Inderjit Singh, the Prince of Chunargarh and Princess Kishori of Shivgarh fall in love. The path is not as easy as it seems. King Shivdutt of Shivgarh, Princess Kishori’s father is burning in the fire of revenge to get back his love Chandrakanta, as well as the kingdom of Chunargarh itself. Shivdutt collects his allies and starts planning his strategy to get back his love and empire. An ace in the art of politics and warfare, Pandit Jagannath, and the warriors Badrinath, Nayantara and Bhavani Singh, form a formidable army.

On the other hand, the King of Chunargarh, Virendra Pratap Singh is also preparing to destroy Shivgarh for the last time. The chief of Virendra Singh’s army, Paramvir Singh with Tej Singh and two beautiful magical mata haris, Chapla and Padmini have readied a strategy for war against Shivgarh. The war clouds are rolling in, and there is one man who can change the stakes of the game, a loyalist of Virendra Pratap Singh, Chandilal who revolts and joins Shivdutt. Amidst all this, Kroor Singh of Chunargarh is doing everything possible to make the two kingdoms fight, so he can get the beautiful Princess Chandrakanta.

In Kahani Chandrakanta Ki, the lead character of princess Chandrakanta is played by Shikha Swaroop. Vindu Dara Singh is playing the character of Abhimanyu while Pundit Jagannath is portrayed by Rajendra Gupta. Glenmark Foundation launches its flagship programme – ‘KAVACH’ in Madhya Pradesh

·        To address the issue of Malnutrition, Infant Mortality Rate and Child Mortality Rate

                           

·        Glenmark will adopt 100 villages in the district of Khandwa, MP

Khandwa, MP, India, June 7th, 2011 – Glenmark Foundation, the CSR arm of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals along with its project partners Spandan Samaj Sewa Samiti, launched its Flagship Programme: Project Kavach: ‘Healthy children, Healthier world’ in the state of Madhya Pradesh today.

Through this flagship programme, Glenmark will address the issues of Infant Mortality and Child Mortality through various interventions. As a beginning to this project, Glenmark will adopt 100 villages in the Khalwa block in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Derived from the local Korku tribal language, the project has been named ‘Konku –Puchiku’ meaning ‘Little Children’.

The project was inaugurated by Mr Sharad Pandit Joint. Director (Health) and Mr Rajesh Desai, Chief Financial Officer (Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.). The other key dignitaries present on the occasion were: Mr. Rajesh Desai (Chief Financial Officer, Glenmark  Pharmaceuticals Ltd.), Mr Alok Singh (CEO Zilla Panchayat). Ms Lakshmi Baghel (Chief Medical Officer), Mr Shrivastav (Chief Conservator of Forests), Mr Rajesh Gupta (District Programme Officer) and Mr Devendra Parisar (Additional SP). 

The objective of project is to address the issue of malnutrition among children through behavior change of community mothers and care givers along with a focus on generating awareness around improving the Immunization and Hygiene practices. Through this, the project would also aim at reducing Infant Mortality Rate(IMR) among the children as they face widespread malnutrition and diseases take a toll on their lives.

Mr Rajesh Desai, Chief Financial Officer said ‘ With the launch of this project, I hope and believe that with the support of the resident local population, Women  and Child Development  Department and the Health Department, in the time to come, this project will successfully lead to a transformation and set a benchmark.’

The inauguration function was marked by a welcome song by singers of the Korku tribe. Mr Rajesh Gupta talked about the challenges in Khandwa to tackle malnutrition. The event ended with the flagging off of an ambulance that has been customized to so as to cater to these villagers’ need for primary healthcare.

This initiative is also an effort to complement the State Government’s commitment through Atal Bal Arogya Evam Poshan Mission endorsed in State Assembly on 4th May 2010 with following objectives to be achieved in forthcoming 5 years:

· To reduce ‘Under 5 years’ mortality from 94.2 per 1000 live births to 60 per 1000 live births

· To bring down the present 60% rate of low weight children to 40%.

· To reduce present rate of 12.6% Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) to 5%
