Future Innoversity introduces MBA in Supply Chain Management

Future Innoversity introduces MBA
in Supply Chain Management

~ Admission open for MBA Retail and BBA Retail Services ~

~ Guaranteed job placement within Future Group ~

April, 2011: Future Innoversity, the academic initiative of Future Learning, a part of the Future Group, in association with IGNOU, has commenced the admission process for its newly introduced program, MBA in Supply Chain Management. Admissions have also commenced for the next batch of its flagship, two-year MBA Retail and three-year BBA Retail Services programs. These programmes will be held at the four Future Innoversity campuses located in Delhi, Ahmadabad, Kolkata and Bangalore. The application forms are available free of cost at all the campuses and can also be downloaded from www.futureinnoversity.edu.in. The last date for receiving applications is 7th May 2011.

All three courses offer guaranteed job placement with Future Group. Every single successful MBA Retail and BBA Retail Services student will be directly absorbed by the group’s leading retail formats like Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, HomeTown, Central, Pantaloons and eZone, at managerial and supervisory positions. The MBA Supply Chain Management students will be recruited by Future Supply Chain. Future Group currently operates 16 million sq ft of retail space in 85 cities and 65 rural destinations.

India’s organized retail industry is undergoing a rapid transformation and poised to become the largest employer. It’s estimated that organized retail alone will require 18 million skilled manpower by 2022. (Ref: National Skill Development Corporation 2010 report).

Foreseeing the need to fill this gap in organized retail and other industry sectors, Future Innoversity will focus on sector-specific courses only. Recognizing that proficiency in supply chain management will be widely required in the areas of service, manufacturing and retail oriented sectors, Future Innoversity has launched its two year MBA in Supply Chain Management. Students are also invited to apply for the next batch of its well-received two-year MBA Retail and three-year BBA Retail Services launched last year. While MBA in Supply Chain Management will be offered at its campuses located in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad only, MBA Retail and BBA Retail Services will be offered at all four locations.

Mr. Muralidhar Rao, CEO, Future Learning said, “Our programs in MBA and BBA Retail have been well received and we are offering MBA in Supply Chain Management from this year. It is our endeavour to ensure that the students learn from the best in the industry, be it industry practitioners or academicians, so that when they graduate they are industry ready. Our focus is to increase employability and not just provide employment.”

Anchored in the Indian cultural context, Future Innoversity’s inimitable strength lies in the practical wisdom and Group’s tacit knowledge that is incorporated in its unique content and teaching methodology. This wisdom, gained from the Future Group’s rich experience in the learning and development domain especially across the retail industry, translates education into an end–to–end learning and skill building exercise aimed at improving employability and building enduring careers for India’s millions. Future Innoversity was recently awarded the Best National B-School Award by Star News for the Industry Related Curriculum in Retail for the year 2011.

LANXESS lights up the streets of Mehtawas

LANXESS lights up the streets of Mehtawas

  • Eight solar lights installed in the streets of Mehtawas
  • Solar lights would be operational even during times of power failure in the region

Nagda, April 25, 2011: LANXESS, a global specialty chemicals company having a manufacturing site in Nagda, is supporting the local community by installing eight lights on the streets of the Mehtawas village, which is a neighbour to Nagda. Notably, these lights would be driven by solar power, which is not only environmentally friendly but also reliable as sunlight is the source of power. Eight points have been identified by LANXESS for the installation of lights keeping in mind the security aspects of the area. Until now, the residents of the village did not have proper street lights and frequent power failures in the Nagda region make lights powered by electricity unreliable.  The solar lamps contributed by LANXESS are of 18 watt each.

The contribution was culminated on the World Earth Day through a ceremony organized at the Mehtawas Shaskiya Prathamik Vidyalaya, a school which LANXESS has supported in 2010. Officials from the local administrative bodies and journalists were present at the ceremony along with the LANXESS management at Nagda.

This initiative is truly an example of LANXESS’ conscious efforts towards sustainable development. LANXESS keenly looks out for opportunities to support the welfare of communities in a meaningful way particularly in the areas in the neighborhood of its operation.

On this occasion, Mr. Neelanjan Banerjee, Senior Executive Director, LANXESS India and Senior Vice President – Basic Chemicals said, “We hope that this initiative would make movements in the otherwise dark streets in the evenings easier and thus benefit the people of Mehtawas. From LANXESS, wish you a safe and a ‘green’ future.”

Dr. Bappa Bandyopadhyay, Head - Manufacturing Site, Nagda added,”We are always happy to help people in the community in our neighbouring areas and this initiative is one such example of our efforts that helps bring about development of the region.”

Chandramukhi Chautala has a special guest on FIR!

Recently a very special guest slithered on to the sets of SAB TV's F.I.R. Hissing his way through the cables and cameras was none other than Vijay Dinanath Chauhan! While the rest of the cast and crew on sets was awe struck and terrified at the same time, our Haryanvi daredevil, Inspector Chandramukhi Chuatala aka Kavita Kaushik, was the only one who was really thrilled!

Now before you start thinking about the obvious reference to Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, let us get this straight! Vijay Dinanath Chauhan is none other than a 7 feet rattle snake! Chandramukhi was so excited, that she wanted to keep the rattle snake with her and actually named him Dinanath!
While everyone on the sets started running helter-skelter on laying sight of it, our fearless leading lady held it and played with it as if it was a lost little puppy.
The love and affection wasn't just one sided! The snake too reciprocated Chandramukhi's attention and affection by curling up on her arm all day and crawling towards her even though the sapera kept calling it away!
Says Chandramukhi Chautala aka Kavita Kaushik, "It is always good to have such guests on the sets. It makes our shooting experiencs very interesting. I love snakes and this one was huge... I can't even explain how excited I was when I saw it. Though initially I was a little terrified, eventually I got very friendly with Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. I loved the way everyone would run away from Dinanath."
Ask her why she decided to name him Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and pat comes the reply - "He was ferocious, yet tall and sexy - hence the name was absolutely suitable."
Keep watching Chandramukhi Chautala & Bajrang Pandey in FIR every
Mon-Friday at 10:30 p.m. only on SAB TV
